Job Description & Summary
Are you ready to make a difference? PwC Austria, with around 1,500 people across 5 locations, is one of the country’s largest audit and consulting firms. Here, success means shaping the world of tomorrow. By engaging with leading organisations, we set new standards – and empower you to make an impact that goes far beyond PwC. Start your journey now.
We are looking for an IT Business Analyst with 5+ years of experience in Digital Lending Transformation projects at major European banks or financial institutions, to act as the functional-domain backbone of a delivery-led service offer focused on SME lending origination.
On a solid IT business-analysis foundation, this role puts domain depth first: the successful candidate bridges business needs and IT solutions, knows how SME lending origination actually works, and can turn regulatory and business requirements into concrete design. Beyond delivery, they co-author the offer's reusable assets and support business development. Client-facing pre-sales is done in support of the offer lead rather than owned end-to-end.
The candidate works closely with business stakeholders, developers, testers and project managers to ensure solutions meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities in our team
Domain & regulation
• Own the SME origination domain: Be the reference point across application intake, KYC/onboarding, creditworthiness assessment, underwriting, decisioning, offer, disbursement and monitoring.
• Translate regulation into design: Assess the impact of regulatory change (e.g. EBA Loan Origination & Monitoring guidelines) on lending systems and turn obligations into testable requirements, controls and target-state processes.
• Co-author reusable assets: Build, with the offer lead, the capability reference model, the vendor-selection framework (scoring, RFI/RFP, TCO), the integration reference architecture and the governance & migration playbook.
• Drive fit-gap and platform assessment: Assess origination platforms against a capability reference model and lead structured fit-gap analysis.
• Support pre-sales: Contribute domain credibility to pitches, proposals and client workshops, in support of the offer lead.
IT business analysis & delivery
• Gather, analyze and document functional and technical requirements related to lending products and processes.
• Translate business needs into clear, structured documentation (Business Requirement Documents, User Stories, Use Cases).
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure alignment between technical implementation and business goals.
• Support functional testing and coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
• Monitor project progress, identify issues and contribute to their resolution.
• 5+ years as an IT Business Analyst in Digital Lending Transformation projects.
• Proven track record delivering complex IT projects in Financial Services (traditional banks, digital banks or fintech), ideally including a delivered SME (or commercial) lending origination transformation.
• EBA LOM fluency — able to translate the guidelines into requirements and controls.
• Familiarity with creditworthiness and affordability assessment in an origination context, enough to work with risk teams. Exposure to automated decisioning solutions (e.g. credit decision engines) is valued.
• Process modeling tools and methodologies (BPMN, UML).
• Project-management and ticketing tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Working experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Comfortable navigating complex IT architectures; integration and data literacy (APIs, core-banking touchpoints, data flows for decisioning).
• Familiarity with the origination platform providers landscape.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable structuring ambiguity and building from a blank page.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, credible in front of senior client stakeholders.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
