Your research activities will include modeling and simulating pilot injection, ignition, and turbulent combustion using CFD. You will be in contact with the research groups investigating the experiments and kinetics, and will use their results to validate your simulations. The results obtained will be published internationally and are intended to form the basis of a dissertation.
Qualification Profile:
- Successfully completed a master’s or diploma degree from a technical university, preferably in mechanical engineering (or a related field).
- Very good knowledge in the areas of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and combustion.
- Simulation experience, ideally in CFD simulation.
- Commitment, ability to work independently, and a strong willingness to collaborate in a team.
- Ability to think analytically and conceptually, as well as quick comprehension and a willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics.
- Willingness to publish and work on a thesis.
Employment:
Full-time (40h) employment under the collective bargaining agreement (3776,10 euros gross per month for 40h, 14 times a year), starting out with 36h (3398,50 euros) for the first 6 months. Relevant prior work experience may be taken into account.
