The following position will be filled at the Department of Economics, Analytics and Operations Research, Quantitative Economics Division (Prof. Martin Wagner) - at the Faculty of Management, Economics & Law with an anticipated starting date of July 15, 2026:
Assistant Professor (postdoc), non-tenure track (all genders welcome)
Level of employment: 100 % (40 hours/week)
Minimum salary: € 70,200.20 per annum (gross), Classification according to collective agreement: B1 lit.b

Your responsibilities:
- Contribution to the main research areas of the research group;
- Independent teaching at the university, both in German and English depending on necessities, as well as supervision of student work;
- Commitment to high-quality research and publications, including research dissemination;
- (Co-)acquisition of funded projects as well as participation in departmental research projects;
- Participation in the organisation of workshops, conferences and other events;
- Participation in the management and development of the department as well as its national and international networks;
- Contribution to the departmental administration and quality assurance measures.
Your profile:
- Doctoral degree in Economics or related subjects (Mathematics, Statistics etc.) at a higher education institution. Note: This requirement must be fulfilled at least two weeks before commencing employment – at the latest: July 1, 2026.
- Excellent knowledge in at least one of the following fields: Macroeconomics, Quantitative Economics, Econometrics;
- Proficiency and ability to teach in English and German;
- Ability to conduct high-quality scientific research.
This distinguishes you additionally:
- Specialisation in Time Series Econometrics or related fields (e.g., Forecasting and Policy Analysis);
- Good teaching skills and/or experience in teaching at tertiary level;
- Social competence and ability to work in a team;
- Willingness to participate in the research activities of the research group;
- Willingness to participate in shaping the profile of the research group.
