emtensor develops advanced microwave imaging systems for medical applications. We are building large-scale phase-coherent SDR arrays based on AD9363 transceivers and Xilinx Zynq platforms, where precise synchronization and deterministic timing across dozens of RF channels are critical to system performance.
We are looking for an experienced RF / SDR FPGA Engineer to take ownership of inter-board phase coherence and synchronization in a large multi-channel SDR system.
This role focuses on FPGA development, clock distribution, deterministic timing, and AD936x transceiver synchronization. You will work on implementing and optimizing phase-coherent operation across a distributed SDR array using industry-standard synchronization techniques.
- Implement and maintain AD9363/AD936x multi-chip synchronization (MCS).
- Develop FPGA logic for deterministic data capture and trigger-based synchronization.
- Design and optimize shared clock and reference distribution architectures.
- Work with Xilinx Zynq platforms and Vivado toolchains.
- Develop and debug RTL modules in Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
- Implement coherent signal acquisition and processing mechanisms.
- Ensure phase repeatability and deterministic system behavior across multiple RF nodes.
- Perform timing closure, CDC analysis, and hardware debugging.
- Collaborate closely with RF, DSP, and software engineers.
- 4+ years of FPGA development experience.
- Strong RTL design skills in Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
- Hands-on experience with Xilinx Vivado and FPGA timing closure.
- Experience with Xilinx Zynq-7000, Zynq-7020, UltraScale+, or RFSoC platforms.
- Practical experience with AD9361, AD9363, or other AD936x-based SDR systems.
- Understanding of multi-channel synchronization, phase coherence, and deterministic timing.
- Experience with AXI4-Stream interfaces, clock-domain crossing (CDC), and FPGA debugging tools.
- Knowledge of DDS/NCO, FFT, and coherent sampling concepts.
- Experience with phased arrays, beamforming, radar, or direction-finding systems.
- Familiarity with FMCOMMS platforms, libiio, no-OS environments, or USRP/UHD ecosystems.
- Experience with clock distribution systems, OCXO/VCTCXO references, LVDS synchronization, or clock-tree devices.
- Background in RF measurements and laboratory instrumentation.
- Experience in medical imaging, microwave imaging, or related technologies.
We are building a team of exceptional engineers to solve some of the most challenging problems in RF systems, signal processing, FPGA design, and medical imaging.
At emtensor, you will work with a small, highly technical team where every engineer has a meaningful impact on the product and the company. We value technical excellence, ownership, curiosity, and the ability to solve difficult problems.
If you are passionate about building world-class technology and want to work alongside other top engineers on problems that truly matter, we would love to hear from you.
