The Institute for Religious Education is a sub-unit of the Faculty of Protestant Theology. The vacant position as university assistant (praedoc) serves to strengthen our teaching and research portfolio. We are looking for Protestant theologians with a special interest in working on research questions in religious education.
We are a research-active institute, emphasise an inspiring working atmosphere and offer a flexible working environment.
The duration of the contract is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to a total of 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-renewal within the first 12 months.
You will play an active role in the research, teaching and administration of the Institute, i.e:
- You will be involved in research projects and publications in Religious Education.
- You will work on and complete your dissertation in Religious Education. We expect you to complete your dissertation agreement within 6-12 months.
- You will participate in doctoral seminars at the Institute.
- You will teach independent courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Protestant Theology or a corresponding teacher training degree program (the final degree certificate must be available no later than the date of appointment).
- A keen interest in religious education, a willingness to attend and organize national and international conferences and to work in a team, and good IT user skills
- A strong interest in interdisciplinary exchange with neighbouring disciplines
- You are interested in empirical research approaches.
- You have fluent German language skills.
