At the LKR Leichtmetallkompetenzzentrum Ranshofen, we are leaders in the development of sustainable materials and processing technologies. We are the primary contact in this field for industry partners in the automotive, aerospace, space, and rail vehicle sectors within the EU. In particular, titanium alloys require intensive further development due to their critical and strategic importance for the EU. The aspects of recycling and material circularity have been inadequately developed to date. Therefore, both materials and processing technologies need to be advanced equally.
Our team, located in Ranshofen, invites applications for a Junior Scientist (f/m/d) role, that combines research activities with the mandatory completion of a PhD thesis. The core topic is the development of cross-contamination-resistant titanium alloy concepts, with these aspects being considered in interaction with modern manufacturing processes. You will conduct research and process investigations in the field of titanium alloy materials technologies using advanced characterization methods, particularly high-energy X-ray diffraction methods.
