Your personal sphere of play:
As a parental leave replacement for the Head of Sports Courses, you will take over the department management of sports courses for the Schmelz location during an employee's absence, as well as actively participate in teaching within the sports courses department (extent: 4 weekly contact hours).
Your workplace is located at USZ 2, Auf der Schmelz 6a, 1150 Vienna. The advertised position, including teaching, has a working time of 40 hours per week and is open due to an employee's absence. The position is initially limited until February 28, 2027.
Your future tasks:
Your responsibilities will include:
The conceptual design, structuring, and strategic development of the sports course program at the Schmelz location
The needs-based staff scheduling and deployment planning of the academic and instructional personnel (course instructors and coaches)
The strategic management and continuous optimization of sports hall and outdoor facility utilization
The monitoring of and compliance with the budget within your department, including profitability analyses
The regular analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding course capacity utilization, the preparation of decision-making proposals, and the implementation of quality assurance measures
The end-to-end planning, organization, and coordination of the summer camps at the "Sport- und Seminarzentrum Dientnerhof"
In this central hub role, you will act as a professional interface between instructors, participants, staff, the USI management, and the Schmelz operations management. The practical delivery and instruction of USI sports courses amounting to 4 weekly contact hours rounds off your diverse field of responsibility.
This is part of your personality:
A completed university degree (Master’s, Magister) in Physical Education (Bewegung und Sport) or Sports Science, preferably complemented by initial professional experience in sports management or sports coordination.
Ideally, a state-certified qualification as a sports instructor or coach, along with prior experience in teaching sports courses independently.
A personality characterized by strong organizational and coordination skills, combining an independent, self-reliant working style with a strong sense of commercial/economic thinking.
Excellent communication skills, a high capacity for teamwork, and well-developed social competencies.
The ability to handle temporary high-pressure workloads, ensuring you always maintain a clear overview even during peak organizational periods.
Comprehensive IT proficiency in MS Office and database management systems is required. Familiarity with the Moodle learning platform is an advantage.
An excellent command of German as well as a good command of English, both written and spoken, are mandatory for this position.
