Associate Tax (f/m/x)
We are looking for a committed and highly qualified associate (f/m/x) with a strong interest in tax law to support our Freshfields Tax team in Vienna on a broad variety of challenging national and international matters.
Your Tasks
Your future job with us will include a diverse range of work for national and international clients across industries, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions, cross-border tax litigation and strategic tax advice on national and international tax law. This includes:

Providing strategic tax advice on complex national and international tax law matters

Supporting cross-border transactions from a tax perspective, including M&A, IPOs, reorganizations and restructurings, carve-outs and other multijurisdictional projects

Advising and representing clients in cross-border tax litigation, tax audits and other contentious tax matters

Working closely with colleagues across Freshfields’ international network on integrated, cross-practice mandates
Your Profile
You will have completed your legal studies with above-average results, have excellent English and German skills, gained international experience and show a genuine interest in tax law. You are an entrepreneurial thinker, value legal creativity and enjoy working independently and responsibly within a team.
Professional experience in tax consultancy or as an associate in the tax practice of a law firm is an advantage.
Prior exposure to tax law, for example through an LL.M. or a dissertation, are assets but not required.

Note according to §9 GlBG: There is no collective agreement or legal minimum salary. The intended minimum basis for the salary arrangement is an annual salary (gross, all-in, 14 instalments); it may range from 61,000 EUR to up to 74,000 EUR (starting salary; depending on seniority and experience).
