It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!
Job Description:
At Ingram Micro, we help businesses reach their full potential through the power of technology. Operating at a global scale and at the center of the IT ecosystem, we connect people, data, and innovation to solve complex challenges for partners and customers worldwide. Our mission goes beyond delivery—we enable transformation, growth, and long-term success through responsible, forward-looking technology solutions.
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced AWS Modernisation Consultant to join our AWS services team and play a key role in supporting our continued growth plans. This is a blended pre-sales and delivery role, suited to a consultant who is equally comfortable shaping opportunities with customers and partners as they are leading the hands-on delivery of high-value engagements. The role is focused on AWS modernisation outcomes rather than pure migration or infrastructure deployment, helping customers evolve applications, platforms, and operating models through cloud-native architecture, automation, DevOps, observability, optimisation, and continuous improvement. Technical Consultants are expected to lead large and complex engagements, provide technical direction, and mentor fellow consultants. A typical AWS Modernisation Consultant will have five or more years’ experience in a technical consulting role, with strong experience designing and delivering AWS-centric modernisation solutions that create measurable business value.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead technical qualification, discovery, and solution shaping for AWS modernisation opportunities
- Facilitate customer workshops focused on application modernisation, platform evolution, cloud-native architecture, and operating model improvement
- Translate customer objectives into modernisation roadmaps, high-level designs, and commercially viable consultancy engagements
- Lead and contribute to proposals, estimates, and Statements of Work (SoW) for modernisation-led services
- Build trusted relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal technical teams to support opportunity progression and successful delivery outcomes
- Design and implement modern architectures using services such as containers, serverless, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and managed AWS services where appropriate
- Ensure consultancy engagements are delivered consistently, to a high standard, and in line with customer business, technical, and operational outcomes
- Produce, review, and maintain architecture, design, delivery, and handover documentation as required
- Support the successful transition of delivered solutions into customer operations through knowledge transfer, best practice guidance, and operational readiness
- Maintain a high level of industry awareness through continuous training and self-development
- Stay current with emerging and future technologies, products, and strategies
- Build and strengthen relationships with peers and cross-functional stakeholders
- Maintain strong commercial awareness of the EMEA Unified Services Centre and wider business solutions, practices, services, and offerings
- Develop and maintain awareness of internal Subject Matter Experts and their areas of specialisation
• Five or more years’ experience in a technical consulting role
- Strong ability to operate across the full engagement lifecycle, from pre-sales discovery and solution design through to implementation and handover
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly to both technical and commercial audiences
- Demonstrates maturity, influence, assertiveness, and diplomacy
- Able to operate independently or as part of a larger, multi-disciplinary team
- Proven ability to technically lead and manage others on large-scale modernisation engagements
- Strong customer-facing consulting skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, shape outcomes, and build trusted relationships
- Deep knowledge within AWS modernisation disciplines such as cloud-native design, automation, observability, and optimisation
- Flexible and customer-focused approach, willing to go beyond expectations to deliver measurable value
- Ability to apply knowledge and expertise to solve problems beyond immediate areas of specialisation
