Your place of work:
The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Vienna comprises the Dean's Office, a Student Service Center, four institutes, and the Outpatient Unit for Research, Teaching and Practice.
Your future position is based with the new Professorship of clinical-psychological intervention research (Prof. Dr. Johanna Böttcher), which will be established in October 2026 at the Institute for Clinical and Health Psychology. The research group investigates innovative digital interventions for mental disorders and psychological distress. The research focuses on acceptance, effectiveness, and mechanisms of action in various digital settings.

Side Effects of Psychological Treatment
The working group actively promotes open and reproducible science (e.g., through pre-registration and the sharing of materials and data) and values diverse perspectives.
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
You participate in research projects / scientific studies.
You contribute to the core research areas of the research group.
We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 6-12 months.
Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective bargaining agreement.
You supervise students.
You are involved in the organization of meetings, conferences, and symposia.
This is part of your personality:
Master's Degree or diploma in psychology.
Experience conducting studies on digital interventions, particularly blended care.
Interest in research questions including and integrating different psychotherapeutic schools / approaches (e.g. CBT, psychodynamic, systemic therapy)
Postgraduate psychotherapy training or continuing education (in progress or completed)
Experience with innovative survey designs in research on clinical-psychological interventions
Very strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods.
Ability to present and address research questions in a structured manner.
Ability to work as part of a team.
High level of commitment and initiative.
Very good command of written and spoken English and German (C1)
Desirable qualifications are:
Initial experience in publishing scientific findings.
Initial teaching experience.
Work experience in interdisciplinary or intersectoral teams.

The basic salary of EUR 3.776,10 (on a full-time basis) increases if we can credit professional experience.
The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
