The Oskar Morgenstern Doctoral School (OMDS) (
OMDS offers the opportunity of a performance-based completion contract for doctoral candidates who have previously held a position as University Assistant (praedoc) or scientific project staff member (praedoc) at the University of Vienna. This completion contract is designed to support highly qualified fellows in the final phase of their doctoral studies. The successful candidate will be employed as a University Assistant (praedoc) and will be affiliated with the STAIN research group (
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:
Your primary responsibility is the completion and timely submission of your doctoral thesis by the end of the completion contract period.
You will maintain regular communication with your supervisor to prioritize your tasks and to ensure the necessary support for the successful completion of your dissertation.
You will actively participate in the activities, programs, and workshops of your department as well as of the Doctoral School.
You will present your research at international conferences and publish your results in peer-reviewed journals.
Where appropriate, you will independently take advantage of further training opportunities (e.g., workshops, training courses, or coaching) to support your academic and personal development.

Required Qualifications
You are enrolled in an active doctoral program at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics at the University of Vienna and are a member of the Oskar Morgenstern Doctoral School.
You have successfully completed your public presentation, submitted your doctoral thesis agreement, and have since submitted your annual progress reports on time.
You can demonstrate active and regular participation in OMDS activities.
You are able to convincingly show that completion and submission of your dissertation can be expected by the end of the funding period.
You are able to provide a statement from your supervisory team confirming their willingness to support you during the final phase of your writing process.
Desirable Qualifications
Solid knowledge of mathematical statistics and probability theory.
A strong interest in abstract mathematical problems, combined with persistence and patience in solving them.
Enjoyment of academic exchange with colleagues at the institute and within the research group.
Programming skills.
Excellent command of English (level C1).
