As a university assistant (predoc), you will be part of the research team of Professor Michael Waibel. Our research and teaching focus on public international law and international economic law. You will be involved in research, teaching, and administrative tasks. We offer flexible working and training opportunities, as well as a pleasant and collegial working environment. Professor Waibel’s team currently consists of 2 postdocs, 3 predocs, and 1 administrative colleague.
The post expires on Dec 14 2026. As this is a replacement position, there is no possibility of extension.
You will actively contribute to research and administrative activities. This includes:
Participating in the team’s international research project

Drafting and editing legal text- s
Assisting with the preparation and publication of academic work- s
Supporting the organisation of conferences, workshops, and symposi- a
Supervising and advising student- s
You will also take on administrative tasks in research and teaching and support the department with general duties.
Completed degree in law (Magister or comparable qualification) with strong academic results

Demonstrated interest in the international dimensions of law-
Experience in drafting and editing legal texts-
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken-
Strong team player with high social and communication skills-
Independent and structured working style; strong organisational abilities-
Additional experience (e.g. a second academic degree in law or a related discipline; work experience in a law firm or international organisations) as well as teaching experience are an advantage-
Knowledge of German is an asse- t
