Professor Lewisch's professorship is a unit of the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology with a research focus on white-collar criminal law, criminal procedural law, and its relationship to constitutional and European law. Its focus is interdisciplinary (including legal economics) and international.
As a prae-doc at this chair, you will receive comprehensive training in criminal law (and, if desired, in related areas of law), including practical legal practice. After initial training, you will work in the full range of criminal law and criminal procedural law, including international and interdisciplinary aspects, and will write your dissertation in this field. In addition, you will also undertake teaching duties as your career progresses.
The duration of the contract upon employment is 2 years due to the retirement of Prof. Lewisch.
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
You participate in research projects and academic studies, as well as in the organization of conferences and symposia.
We expect you to complete your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
You will work on your dissertation and its completion and on possible other publications (articles, contributions).
You will supervise students.
You will independently teach courses within the scope of the collective agreement.
You will assume administrative tasks in research and teaching.
Completed degree in law
Excellent academic performance, particularly in criminal law and criminal procedural law, demonstrated by successful examinations (submission of a transcript of records and grades is mandatory)
