Restaurant Kam San in Katwijk aan Zee (The Netherlands) is a restaurant with a kitchen concept in which traditional Chinese dishes are prepared.
To expand our kitchen team, we are looking for an Independent Working Cook who meets the job profile as set out in the Dutch Hospitality Industry Collective Labour Agreement. You will work under the supervision of the head chef and, together with your colleagues, contribute to a professional and well-organized kitchen. Experience with this cuisine is not required. We offer an internal onboarding period so that you become familiar with the recipes, preparation methods, and working procedures used within our restaurant.
What will you do?
- Independently prepare ingredients and carry out mise en place activities
- Apply basic cooking techniques and prepare dishes according to recipes
- Work with fresh products and contribute to the quality, taste, and presentation of dishes
- Provide substantive input on the composition and modification of menus, the menu card, and preparation methods
- Manage stock and ordering processes, including checking deliveries and applying FIFO rotation
- Provide professional guidance to and supervise kitchen assistants and other support staff in the kitchen
What do you bring?
- MBO level 3 working and thinking level, in line with the Independent Working Cook profile under the Dutch Hospitality Industry Collective Labour Agreement
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Please note: candidates with an MBO level 3 (intermediate vocational level) working and thinking level and knowledge of basic cooking techniques are expressly encouraged to apply. Experience with the cuisine served in our restaurant is not required; the necessary onboarding period and guidance will be provided.
What do we offer you?
We offer a gross monthly salary between € 2,700 and € 3,700 gross per month, depending on experience and education, in accordance with the Dutch Hospitality Industry Collective Labour Agreement. You will receive holiday allowance and pension accrual. In addition, we offer training, guidance, and a pleasant professional working environment.
