Crystallization Process Development Specialist – m/f/d
As a crystallization process development specialist based at our manufacturing site in Linz, Austria, you will support our service offering for early and late stage crystallization process development, solid form screening and solid state characterisation. You will be responsible for planning and executing laboratory activities and for ensuring smooth scale-up to production. With this responsibility you are a key link between internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities:

Development and optimisation of crystallization processes, including filtration and drying

Define and execute laboratory programmes for solid state characterisation, solid form screening and crystallization process development, including complete documentation

Define required solid-state and in process characterisation to support process development, carry out or arrange for appropriate testing and analysis

Scale-up and transfer of new processes and products from the laboratory to manufacturing scale

Ensure relevant safety analyses are carried out

Assessment of crystallization, filtration and drying processes with regard to their technical feasibility and suitability for our manufacturing plants

Prepare documentation and contribute expert knowledge to patent applications

Contribute to process validation activities
Your qualifications:
-
A PhD in chemical engineering with specialisation in crystallization process development, chemistry (preferentially with a specialisation in solid state or physical chemistry), materials science or equivalent or an MSc in either of these disciplines with a minimum of three years’ experience in crystallization process development or solid state characterisation in an industrial environment

Experience in solid state characterisation and in-process analysis, for example thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, DVS, imaging (in-line and/or off-line), spectroscopic techniques (in-line and/or off-line)

High level of customer orientation and initiative, well organised

Excellent communication skills, good team-player while capable of working independently, with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to complex tasks

High level of proficiency both in the German and English languages (spoken and written), good IT skills

Remuneration will be according to the collective agreement for the chemical industry (KV der Chem. Industrie). The annual salary for this position is €59.781,96 minimum. A higher salary is possible, depending upon qualifications and experience.
