The Organic Synthesis Group of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Nuno Maulide at the Faculty of Chemistry is currently seeking a Senior Scientist, 20h/week, with experience in organic chemistry and natural product synthesis for 4 years temporary employment relationship, which can be made permanent after positive evaluation. Our Team currently consists of 11 post docs, 13 s, 2 senior scientists and administrative colleagues.
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
You will establish a research profile in the field of automation of chemical reactions and software development.
You will participate in research projects and scientific studies focusing on the development of new methods, protocols, and the design of new apparatus for the automation of organic reactions.
You will publish internationally and give presentations.
You will assist in writing grant proposals and acquiring third-party funding.
You will independently teach courses in accordance with collective agreement regulations.
You will support the supervision and training (mentoring) of PhD, MSc, and BSc students.
You will participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance.
You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching- .
- Completed doctoral degree in Chemistry (outstanding dissertation) with excellent theoretical and practical knowledge in Organic Chemistry (planning and independent execution of organic syntheses).
- Additional experience as a PostDoc in the field of automation of organic reactions.
- Proven research competence and initiative, demonstrated by international publications.
- Experience in supervising PhD, MSc, and BSc students.
- Experience in writing grant proposals.
- Experience in modern methods for synthesis and analysis in organic chemistry, including work under inert atmospheres.
- Experience in the automation of organic chemical reactions, particularly asymmetric multi-step synthesis.
- Experience with stereoselective rearrangements and other isomerization reactions.
- Experience with multi-step total synthesis of oxidized natural products.
- In-depth knowledge of programming languages Python, SQL, and C.
- Strong IT skills (e.g., Linux, Git, LDAP, XDL, hardware development).
- Experience in public outreach for youth and adult education.
- Experience in writing scientific publications.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- You are a team player with high social and communication skills.
