MERKUR Excellence, based in Raaba near Graz, was founded in 2018 as part of the MERKUR GROUP and specializes in game design and development, with a particular focus on casino games.
We are looking for a passionate Junior Technical Artist (m/f/d) to join our new game design and development studio. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail and a solid understanding of how to balance creative vision with technical implementation in game development.
Your responsibilities
- As a Junior Technical Artist, you implement and optimize graphical game elements to ensure a smooth and high-performance player experience.

In addition, you translate design ideas into technical solutions and integrate creative concepts into functional game systems.

Moreover, you create animations, 3D models, simulations, and prototypes for our games and implement them in Unity using customized shaders and scripts where required.

You modify and improve existing technical implementations to enhance overall quality and performance.

Last but not least, you document your work processes carefully and present your results internally as well as to clients.
Your profile
- Initial professional experience in a similar role, ideally within the gaming industry or relevant internships

Strong skills in Photoshop, After Effects, and Spine; experience with Unity is a plus

Creative mindset combined with strong technical understanding and problem-solving skills

Very good English skills (spoken and written); German is a plus
