About the role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a diligent and reliable person to join our team in a job share capacity, three (3) full days per week.
The Marine Operations Coordinator is an integral part of the Sealink South Australia Marine Operations team based in Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. This role reports to the Marine Operations Manager and provides daily planning and rostering services to Kangaroo Island Ferry Service.
The Marine Operations Coordinator's primary responsibilities will be preparing and producing ferry crew rosters, processing fortnightly timesheets, managing leave requests, assisting with operational and maintenance requirements, and performing other administrative duties required to ensure the safe and effective operation of the ferries. You will be required to maintain records and monitor expiry dates for our employees to meet marine compliance and licensing requirements, identify training needs, and coordinate the trainees' rosters to ensure rostering requirements are met with our provider.
The successful applicant will be innovative and analytical, ensuring we achieve and maintain high standards of operational excellence and meet budgeting requirements. Our new KIFS contract is underpinned by KPI’s which we are obligated to meet. You will need to manage and report on key elements each month; attention to detail is therefore key. You will be required to build strong relationships with crew members and be the main contact for all administrative duties. This role requires energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi-skilling and strong time management skills.
Some after-hours and weekend work may be required from time to time.

These key requirements will be complimented by your experience and skills in the following areas:

At least 2 years’ experience in an administration-based role

Rostering and payroll experience (advantageous)

Proficient in Excel and Word at an intermediate level

Deputy (Payroll system) knowledge would be beneficial
-
Previous leadership experience would be viewed favourably

Certificate IV in Leadership (beneficial)
A current (within 6months) National Police Clearance is required if you are successful. You will have an excellent mentor to assist in training, and we encourage your application. Working days may be flexible and will be agreed mutually with our current Marine Operations Coordinator.
