emtensor develops advanced microwave imaging systems for medical applications. Our systems rely on precise RF measurements and calibration across large multi-channel SDR arrays. We are looking for an engineer who can improve receiver performance through advanced calibration and dynamic-range extension techniques.
We are seeking a DSP / RF Calibration Engineer to take ownership of receiver calibration, dynamic-range optimization, and multi-gain measurement processing.
You will develop algorithms and software that improve measurement quality by combining captures from multiple gain states, calibrating amplitude and phase responses, and ensuring accurate RF data across a wide dynamic range.
- Develop and implement multi-gain acquisition workflows for RF measurements.
- Design calibration procedures for amplitude and phase correction across receiver gain states.
- Develop algorithms for dynamic-range extension and gain-range stitching.
- Validate measurement quality, consistency, and calibration accuracy.
- Analyze receiver performance, noise floor, clipping behavior, and SNR.
- Build calibration and validation tools using Python, NumPy, MATLAB, and C.
- Prototype algorithms and integrate them into production software.
- Work closely with RF, FPGA, and software teams to improve overall system performance.
- 4+ years of experience in DSP, signal processing, or RF measurement systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python and NumPy.
- Good C programming skills.
- Experience with calibration of measurement or receiver systems.
- Understanding of amplitude and phase correction techniques.
- Experience with dynamic-range extension, multi-gain processing, or range stitching.
- Knowledge of ADC behavior, clipping, noise floor analysis, and SNR optimization.
- Familiarity with AD9361, AD9363, AD936x, or comparable RF transceivers.
- Experience with VNA calibration techniques (SOLT, TRL, or similar).
- Background in RF instrumentation and measurement systems.
- Experience with embedded software on ARM or Zynq platforms.
- Knowledge of S-parameters and RF network measurements.
- Experience in microwave imaging, medical imaging, or scientific instrumentation.
- MATLAB experience is a plus.
