Your future position will be a Post doc assistant in the field of Literature, Culture and Media Studies (Lusophone and Hispanic or Comparative Literature Studies), participating in research as well as in teaching and administration at the Department of Romance Studies. The Department of Romance Studies offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degree programs in five Romance languages and teacher-training courses for secondary schools in three languages (French, Italian and Spanish). The institute is part of the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies. More than 100 academic staff members and a few thousand students apreciate the diversity of subjects, internationality, outstanding research projects and interdisciplinary cooperations.
The position is initially limited to four months to cover a colleague's absence.
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
You build up an independent research profile in the field of lusophone and/or hispanophone literature, culture, and media studies (from a comparative perspective).
You are involved in research projects and scientific studies- .
You publish internationally and give lectures- .
You apply for projects and raise third-party funds- .
You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation- .
You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement- .
You supervise your students- .
You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance- .
You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration- .
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies with a special focus on Lusophone and/or Hispanic Studies (Literature, Media and Culture Studies)
- Outstanding dissertation
- Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
- Experience in research management and the implementation of academic projects
- Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
- Excellent knowledge of Portuguese and Spanish, a third Romance language is welcome
- IT skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (C1)
- Team player and high social/communicative skills
