CeMM (Research Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences) & IMBA (Institute of Molecular Biotechnology) are leading biomedical research institutes located at the heart of Vienna, among a vibrant ecosystem of universities, research institutes, and biotech companies. The project requires a commitment of 9-12 months.
We offer a master’s thesis position jointly supervised by the Abdel Fattah lab (CeMM) and the Mendjan lab (IMBA). The aim is to further develop next-generation human cardiac organoid models, integrating technology from the recently established self-organizing chamber-like heart organoids called cardioids (Hofbauer et al., Cell 2021; Schmidt, Deyett et al., Cell 2023) and the patented label-free nozzle-free magnetic bioprinting approach (Abdel Fattah et al., US patent, 2023, US11788057B2; Abdel Fattah et al., RSC Biomat. Sci., 2018).
