We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead the development of next-generation portable medical imaging systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with engineering leadership and will be responsible for building and scaling multidisciplinary engineering teams in Bangalore while collaborating closely with European team.
The successful candidate will own the hardware and system architecture, drive product development from concept through production, and build a world-class engineering organization supporting emtensor’s future platform roadmap.
- Own the architecture and development of complex RF, analog, mixed-signal and embedded electronic systems.
- Lead end-to-end product development from concept, requirements definition and architecture through validation, certification and manufacturing.
- Build, scale and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, systems, FPGA and embedded engineering.
- Recruit, develop and retain senior engineering talent.
- Drive technical decision-making, architecture reviews and design reviews.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Europe and India.
- Lead system integration activities across hardware, firmware, FPGA, software and mechanical domains.
- Oversee schematic design, PCB architecture, board bring-up, debugging and validation activities.
- Define and execute hardware verification, validation and reliability strategies.
- Drive EMI/EMC design, compliance and certification activities.
- Manage technical risks, root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure products comply with regulatory and quality standards relevant to medical devices.
- Strong expertise in hardware architecture and complex electronic system design.
- Deep knowledge of analog and mixed-signal electronics.
- Experience designing low-noise acquisition systems using ADCs, DACs and precision analog circuitry.
- Strong expertise in RF system design and RF front-end architectures.
- Experience with antenna systems, impedance matching networks and low-noise signal acquisition chains.
- Experience with high-speed digital interfaces including DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet and related SI/PI challenges.
- Working knowledge of FPGA-based systems, RTL workflows and high-speed digital architectures.
- Strong understanding of embedded system architectures and system-level integration.
- Expertise with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer and Cadence Allegro.
- Experience with signal integrity, power integrity and circuit simulation tools.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNAs, spectrum analyzers and other advanced lab equipment.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Medical devices, medical imaging, electromagnetic sensing, MRI/NMR, ultrasound, radar or other advanced sensing/acquisition systems.
- Experience with IEC 60601, ISO 14971, CE MDR, FDA or comparable regulated product environments.
- Experience supporting manufacturing transfer and product industrialization.
- Experience leading engineering organizations serving global markets.
- 15+ years of experience in hardware and systems engineering.
- 10+ years leading engineering teams.
- Experience building and managing teams of 10+ engineers.
- Proven experience scaling engineering organizations.
- Experience working with engineering organizations in Germany, Austria, the United States or other global R&D environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
