Your impact
As a Data Engineer (IoT & Smart Buildings), you will enable advanced analytics that make buildings smarter, more energy-efficient, and sustainable. Working with complex IoT data, you will build the foundation for data-driven solutions that reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs.
The Job

Build and maintain data products and supporting data infrastructure at scale in AWS
- Build data pipelines using AWS technology stack and connect data silos within applications.
- Support the automation and deployment of AI/ML workflows
- Define data ingestion, formats/schemas, metadata/catalog integrations, federated access, and data-product creation
- Enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, and data-driven use cases by defining efficient data-access patterns and tooling (e.g. for LLM context engineering).
Your Profile - Minimum qualifications

3+ years of experience working with data at scale
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar

Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform) and cloud-native technologies in AWS (e.g. Lambda, Athena, Glue, SageMaker, S3, etc.)
- Experience in building CI/CD pipelines
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), complex SQL queries and their performance across large, distributed databases
- Experience with Apache Spark (ideally PySpark)
- REST API usage, definition, and implementation.
- Clear communication skills and ability to define technical requirements.
Preferred qualifications

Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Working knowledge of different database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Solid experience in collaborating with Data Scientists and Machine Learning engineers.
- Interest and/or hands-on experience in MLOPs and AI product lifecycle
- Domain experience with (or strong willingness to learn about) IoT and timeseries data, building automation systems, digital twins, or other smart buildings-related technologies

Our offer
The gross annual salary according to the collective agreement of the electrical and electronics industry for this function is at least EUR 62.609,54 (this in any case exceeds the collective agreement minimum salary). Depending on education and experience, an overpayment is possible.
