As Country Operations Steward - Argentina, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of Luján Zoo while supporting the establishment of foundational governance and operational frameworks for early-stage activities in Argentina. You will ensure high standards of animal welfare, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity in alignment with global organisational principles. As the local operations point of contact, you will support cross-functional coordination, site planning, and future operational readiness as the broader Argentina structure evolves.
Your contribution will be:
- Acting as the local operations lead during early-stage development in Argentina

Overseeing day-to-day management of the current site, ensuring appropriate care, welfare, biosecurity, and operational needs for animals

Establishing and implementing basic SOPs, administrative systems, and operational policies required for a legally compliant local presence

Building and maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders, contractors, service providers, and local partners

Coordinating with government bodies, key stakeholders, and external partners (e.g. local vendors, tax authorities, insurers etc) to ensure regulatory compliance and support local operations

Coordinating land scouting activities, site assessments, and early due diligence efforts

Liaising with local, provincial, and national authorities on zoning, land use, agricultural, environmental, and operational requirements

Managing and coordinating early-stage contractors and consultants, including land agents, engineers, and legal and technical advisors

Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and contracting of early local staff in line with Argentine labour law and organisational policies

Coordinating employment administration and maintaining HR records in support of compliant employment frameworks, including contracts, payroll, insurance, work permits, and visas as required
Your profile ideally illustrates:
- Experience in operations, site management, project coordination, or a similar role

Background working with government authorities, permits, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management

Background in the non-profit and NGO sector

Strong organisational, administrative, and problem-solving skills

Experience coordinating external vendors, contractors, or service providers

Knowledge of Argentine labor, administrative, and regulatory frameworks is an advantage

Ability to work independently in an evolving, start-up environment

Fluent Spanish and professional working proficiency in English

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business systems
